Hi! My name is Susie and I am the owner of Cupcake Clubhouse Preschool. I am the mother of FOUR adorable children. I love being at home with my two youngest kids and getting to do what I love to do -- teach. 

 

I have an amazing husband who has supported my decision to quit my teaching job and start a business of my own. We are getting ready to start our NINTH year of preschool! He has been my biggest fan. I have wonderful parents who have made me into who I am today.

I have taught in the public school system for nine years. I know how children learn, yet I understand how important it is to let children be children. They grow up so fast. I also understand how important it is to have a good educational foundation to build on for future education. What is most important to me is developing a love of learning. That is my favorite part of my job! 

 

Besides teaching in the public school and being a mother, I have also had experience teaching in a Montessori classroom. I use many techniques from what I learned, especially the idea that every child learns at a different pace AND THAT IS OKAY!!! I also have my Masters degree in Instructional Design. This helps me to effectively plan lessons to best fit the needs of your child.

 

Most importantly, I love children. I believe every child can learn. The most rewarding moments in teaching for me are the lightbulb "ah-hah" moment when a child understands something. You can see it in their eyes... I love, love, love it.

That is why I have dedicated my life to teaching. Oh, and I kind of feel like a celebrity getting hugs from former students whenever I walk into Target! It's the best benefit ever! My students become like family.
